Easter 2014
Gabriel needed to decorate some eggs for school.
I'm very proud of him as he planned and decided how he wanted to design his eggs. Most importantly he did it by himself with some assistance from daddy.
I bought some Kinder Buenos chocolates for the kids at home to do their egg hunts,

Sarah's first book
Sarah's first attempt to publish her own book.
She has been making attempts to write letters, copy words (both English and Chinese characters) on random scraps of paper.
2 weeks ago, I've prepared some small booklets so that she can start writing in them like the 'Letter Getter' series.
I read a friend's blog motherkao.com and picked up some ideas on how to get Sarah started.
Since she is only 4 years and 4 months old, I assisted her by telling her that we are going to write a book on numbers.
I've chosen the theme on 'bugs' to align with the school's theme.
She named the bugs that she has learnt in school and I wrote using a highlighter.
But getting her to trace over the words it also helps with penmanship and modeling, as she still tends to get a little confused by the orientation of the letters.
After tracing the letters, we run through the words again to reinforce word recognition.
Then she started drawing.
It's quite a big project for a 4 year old, after 2 hours. She was exhausted so we took another day to colour the pictures.
She is most confident in recognizing the last 2 Chinese characters - 'Kun Chong' which means bugs in Chinese.
Sunday school
Beautiful Sunday morning
Thank God for his blessings!
Sarah and Nathan attends Sunday School in Chinese.
She is slowly getting used to the environment, learning all worship songs and prayers in Chinese, Nathan simply enjoys the classes, swaying to the music, clapping and dancing.
Mummy needs to work hard in polishing up my Chinese now, starting with the Lord's Prayer!
Barney show
First time watching Barney show.
Sarah was really anxious and worried that Barney would jump at her, asked a million questions before the show start.
After the show, wanted a photo with Barney yet dare not go upclose with Barney and the cast.
Sigh.
Reluctantly waved goodbye from the 2nd floor.
I'm a Sheriff!
Bought a set of toy guns from the market today. I don't usually indulge them with such toys. Can't help it as Sarah and Nathan have to share an archery set with Gabriel, taking take turns to play with it.
This set of toy guns comes with
- 3 shot guns
- 1 target and
- 1 sheriff's badge!
Not again... Sharing!
Guess who got the badge.
Yes... The youngest.. Nathan.
Sarah and Gabriel frowned and whined.
Mummy started racking her brains to problem solve!!
Gave them some recycled cardboard which I kept from the cereal box packaging, and gave them some markers to get them started on their self-made Sheriff Badge.
1) We googled for some ideas of how a Sheriff Badge look like
2) The kids chose the designs they like
3) They sketched the badge, colour and cut
See... All done! 3 happy kids with their own personalised Sheriff badges!
Sarah loves art
Sarah attends 'Art Explorer' classes while in Cambridge Little Footies Schoolhouse Childcare Centre.
They have engaged Teacher Sarah an inhouse artist to work with the children.
Her lessons are very well-structured and teaches basic skills every child should know.
Sarah-Grace has been a diligent and attentive girl in class. I know it because she duplicates all work learnt at school.
She asks for paper, pencil, paint and gets on to work on her own.
She grips the pencil very well and can is reflected in her artwork, writing as well as colouring. See below.

Bad fall
Today Sarah was enticed by the pool and requested to play at the baby pool after laying off swimming for months. However after playing ball for a while, she wanted to go home. Unfortunately, Gabriel went into a melt down (again!) and I started playing with her when Gabriel was in a better mood. We played piggy back and she accidentally slipped off my back n landed on the ground! Luckily I was still holding on to her, so not too bad (I thought!) within seconds, her bump on her forehead swelled up.
Mark 'played' with her while icing her. He even get her to pick the ice cubes she wanted. After a minute of laughter, we went into minutes of struggles. Sorry baby!
